Intensive Care Unit ( ICU ) is a department for intensive monitoring and treatment of critically ill patients. It equipped with patient monitors, first-aid equipment and life support equipment. These equipments provides comprehensive organ support and monitoring for critically ill patients, so as to improve the survival rate and quality of life of patients as much as possible and restore their health.
The routine application in ICU are NIBP monitoring, provides some important physiological parameters for hemodynamically stable patients. However, for hemodynamically unstable critically ill patients, NIBP has certain limitations, it cannot dynamically and accurately reflect the actual blood pressure level of patients, and IBP monitoring must be performed. IBP is a basic hemodynamic parameter that is often used to guide clinical treatment, especially in critical illness.
IBP monitoring has been widely used in current clinical practice, IBP monitoring can be accurate, intuitive and continuously to observe dynamic changes of blood pressure, and can be directly collected arterial blood for blood gas analysis, which can effectively avoid the repeated puncture lead to adverse conditions such as vascular injury. It is not only beneficial to reduce the clinical nursing staff workload, at the same time, it can avoid the pain caused by repeated puncture to patients, especially for severe patients. With its unique advantages, it is widely recognized by patients and clinical medical workers.
